Privacy Policy

The short version. Sloom Studio is local-first and has no Sloom user account. Your projects, media, and provider API keys stay on your device. Content leaves your device only when you send it to a third-party provider you selected. If you buy or restore a Google Play commercial license, the app sends limited purchase-verification data and your chosen delivery email to Sloom so we can verify the purchase and deliver the permanent key. This website also keeps privacy-respecting, cookieless visit counts and offers an optional email signup. We do not sell personal data or use advertising trackers. Details below.

1. Information we collect

The app contains no advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or crash reporting that sends data to us. Core creative work does not require a Sloom account and your projects and media are not uploaded to Sloom. The limited exceptions are the optional Google Play purchase flow described in section 1b and the third-party provider actions described in section 3. Outside those disclosed, user-directed functions, Sloom collects no personal data from the core creative workflow. (For the sloom.studio website, see section 1a.)

1a. This website (sloom.studio)

Analytics. This marketing site uses first-party, cookieless visit measurement: it records aggregate page views and the referring website’s host name (for example “google.com”). There are no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising networks, and no third-party analytics services. We never place your data in a URL, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Email signup (optional). If you choose to enter your email in the signup form, we store that address on our own server for one purpose: to email you occasional Sloom Studio updates. We do not sell or share it, and you can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or writing support@sloom.studio. If you never submit the form, we never have your email.

1b. Google Play purchase and license delivery

If you choose to buy or restore the one-time commercial license through Google Play, Sloom Studio sends the following over an encrypted connection to Sloom Software LLC’s license-fulfillment service: the email address you enter for key delivery, the app package and product identifiers, the Google Play purchase token, and an order identifier when Google supplies one. The service sends the purchase token to Google Play solely to verify and acknowledge the purchase. Google processes the payment under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.

After verification, Sloom stores the delivery email, issued license key, product/order identifiers, a one-way SHA-256 digest of the purchase token (not the raw token), delivery status, and fulfillment timestamps. We use this record to deliver and restore the same permanent license, prevent duplicate or fraudulent issuance, provide support, and maintain transaction records. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

2. Data stored on your device

Sloom Studio stores the following locally on your device so the app can work. This data is not transmitted to us:

  • Provider API keys and settings you enter, kept in local app storage so you don’t re-enter them.
  • Projects (.sloom files) and the media you import or generate.
  • App preferences (layout, tool, and UI settings).

You can remove this data at any time by deleting your projects, clearing the app’s storage, or uninstalling the app.

3. Data you send to third-party AI providers

Sloom Studio is a bring-your-own-key tool. When you run a generation, edit, or other AI action, the app sends the inputs needed for that action — for example your prompt text, and any image, video, or audio you selected — directly from your device to the AI provider you chose for that action, authenticated with the API key you supplied. Depending on your configuration this may include Google (Gemini / Vertex AI), OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Hugging Face, Stability AI, Black Forest Labs, Atlas Cloud, ElevenLabs, and similar AI providers you configure.

These providers are independent companies. Your use of them is governed by their terms and privacy policies, and any usage is billed to you by them. We are not a party to that relationship and never receive a copy of that content. Please review each provider’s privacy policy before sending content to it. These transfers happen only as a result of an action you initiate and only to the destination you selected. Sloom Studio does not send your content anywhere on its own.

4. Permissions

  • Internet — to communicate with the AI providers you configure.
  • Storage (legacy, older Android only) — to save your projects and exported files to a shared folder. On modern Android (13+) no storage permission is requested at all.

When you import media, you choose the file through the standard Android file picker, which grants Sloom Studio access only to the file you selected — no broad photo/media permission is requested. All media is processed on your device.

5. Children’s privacy

Sloom Studio is a professional creative tool intended for general/older audiences. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

6. Data security

Your creative projects and media stay on your device unless you choose a provider action. Network requests to AI providers and the Google Play license service use encrypted connections. The fulfillment service stores only the limited record described in section 1b and does not retain the raw Play purchase token. Protecting the device itself (lock screen, OS updates, who has access) is your responsibility.

7. Data deletion

To delete local data, delete individual .sloom projects, clear Sloom Studio’s app storage in Android Settings, and/or uninstall the app. To delete content previously sent to an AI provider, use that provider’s own controls. To request deletion of an email-signup record or Sloom-held Google Play fulfillment data, email support@sloom.studio from the relevant address. We may retain the minimum transaction/security record required for fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, or to prevent duplicate license issuance; deleting fulfillment data may limit our ability to restore or redeliver the offline key. Google Play payment records must be managed through Google.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL.
